The Baum Lab kelp team is featured in the documentary - Send Kelp! - which is now showing on Telus! This was directed by Blake McWilliam and the team had fun working with the documentary crew to share this work.
Reef Rescue
Julia and Kristina are featured extensively in the documentary Reef Rescue. Produced by Merit Motion Pictures, the documentary has been shown in Canada on CBC’s The Nature of Things and in the U.S. on PBS Nova, and in 2020 won the Jackson Wild Media Award for Best Conservation Film. To get footage for this, the crew made up of director Su Rynard, producer Aaron Floresco, and cinematographer Léo Monnet, joined the Kiritimati field team for a week of filming on location in Kiritimati in 2018. Photos of this are below!

Chasing Coral
In 2016 Julia was also filmed on location in Kiritimati speaking about coral bleaching and mortality for the documentary Chasing Coral.
