This year we decided that we wanted to use the lab retreat budget for a writing retreat in November. But in the spirit of starting the new academic year off on a high and welcoming Lauren Shea to the team, we spent an afternoon doing goal and lab culture activities led by Tessa at Willows Beach. This was followed by a wonderful potluck; we of course all ate too much food. Then we headed downtown and played some laser tag and capped it off with some drinks. There were many laughs and good discussions throughout the day!
